Afkodning af Ukraine-konflikten

Efter Ruslands invasion af Ukraine i februar bestilte Huset for Europæisk Historie (HEH) en undersøgelse, der skulle kaste lys over denne krise og give publikum en bredere forståelse af, hvad der står på spil i Ukraine. Opgaven blev varetaget af Kristina Zmejauskaitė, der er ph.d.-studerende i historie ved Dublin City University, og arbejdet er for nylig blevet afsluttet med indsamlingen af omkring 20 artikler og forelæsninger.

Formålet med projektet var at give publikum indsigt i baggrunden for krigen gennem en forståelse af historien og den kollektive erindring, der står på spil.

De indsamlede genstande skulle have flere perspektiver og være akademisk velunderbyggede, men tilgængelige for et alment publikum. De skulle også behandle en række specifikke spørgsmål som: Hvordan bruges historien i den nuværende kontekst, og af hvem, til hvilke formål og med hvilke resultater?

Der blev også fastsat andre kriterier for indsamlingen. Artiklerne og forelæsningerne skulle have et klart fokus på erindring og historie og helst sætte debatten ind i en europæisk sammenhæng. De skulle også være forfattet af personer med hjemsted i forskellige lande og kunne derfor være udfærdiget eller præsenteret på forskellige sprog, og de skulle være analytiske snarere end meningstilkendegivelser.

Desuden skulle de være offentliggjort eller uploadet inden for de seneste fem år, skulle komme fra klart identificerbare og pålidelige kilder og omfatte bidrag fra anerkendte historikere og akademikere.
