Hosted event: EUNIC Panel debate "Security vs. Privacy"
The House of European History will host the new EUNIC - European Union National Institutes for Culture - Brussels conference cycle questioning the future of Europe: “For a New European Social Contract”. The first panel discussion will explore how the development of networks and digital communities blurs distinctions between privacy and self-disclosure. In a context of ‘state emergency’ measures as well as personal data surveillance, the panellists will address issues such as the preservation of citizens’ rights, the protection of free speech and the policies implemented by the EU to provide this protection.
