Our Permanent Exhibition is brought to life with over 1,500 objects, documents and audio-visual materials, from over 300 museums and collections from across Europe and the world. Don’t miss our temporary exhibitions, which take a deep dive into specific themes and periods.

Bus
Lines to the House of European History
Lines 22, 27, 34, 38, 64, 80 and 95 all stop at Place du Luxembourg, 600m from the House of European History. Lines 12 and 21 also connect to Brussels Airport.

Where to lock your bike
There are metal bars to lock your bike on Place Jean Rey, directly opposite the museum.
Metro
Lines to the House of European History
The nearest stops are Maelbeek and Schuman on lines 1 and 5, and Trone on lines 2 and 6.
Car
Parking for persons with reduced mobility
There are two parking spaces behind the House of European History building, for persons with reduced mobility. You should display a valid badge in the windscreen. Access these spaces from a turning at approximately 133 Rue Belliard, just after the European Committee of the Regions building at 99-101 Rue Belliard. They cannot be reserved in advance.

Visits and guided tours
Groups of 10 people or more need to reserve their visit in advance. For specific information ahead of a school group booking, please see our Plan a school visit page.
Guided tours can be booked for groups of ten or more a minimum of one month before the visit, in English, French, Dutch or German, subject to availability.
Guided visits of the permanent or temporary exhibitions are on offer, as well as a thematic guided tour entitled “The Pursuit of Democracy”. This tour is based on the “active participation” method and delves deeper into the concept of democracy in Europe. Expect a tour that stimulates reflection and fosters exchanges between participants about objects and related concepts. A group starts by looking closely at objects presented in the permanent exhibition, introducing and exploring ideas as a group, digging deeper into those ideas and synthesising them for the future.

Facilities
All our facilities and activities are accessible for wheelchair users.
The House of European History shop offers a range of gifts, souvenirs and practical items. The shop is also accessible online for purchases.
For refreshments, two vending machines are on the ground floor level, along with a seating area for eating. A free water fountain is available before exiting the museum. Please carry with you your own water bottle for environmental reasons.
