Europe Now - public opening
On 9 May 2021, Europe Day, the House of European History is opening the completely re-modelled 6th floor of its permanent exhibition, entitled ‘Europe Now’.
Come along and discover symbolic objects that highlight some of the key issues of our time and enjoy immersive audio-visual installations to delve into the continent’s diversity. Use the interactive stations on the floor to share your experiences and perceptions of Europe.
Live animations throughout the afternoon will enhance your visit at the museum that day.
At the heart of the exhibition launch, DJ soFa will take you on an immersive journey through the continent using music originating from across Europe and beyond. Artists from Company New Heroes will capture your impressions and draw your wishes and dreams for the Europe of tomorrow, turning them into visionary images we will display throughout the afternoon.
To join us for the official launch day, you can make a booking on the museum website here - brussels-historia.booking.europarl.europa.eu
Can’t join us at the museum? No problem - you can participate in the live drawing online (register here) and join us for a wrap-up of the activity which will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel at 17.30.
Places are limited due to Covid-related restrictions, do not wait to register!
As of May 9th, our new and exciting exhibition floor ‘Europe Now’, will be accessible for all individual visitors on normal opening days - currently Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Book your visit to the permanent exhibition of House of European History here.
New Heroes was founded 12 years ago by Lucas De Man, Wouter Goedheer and Bas Rijnsoever. They wanted to create theatre that was different, that led into a more direct dialogue with the audience, outside theatre into public space. Using Stories and Imagination Company New Heroes shapes and creates. Human dignity, solidarity, environmental sustainability, social justice and democracy: in a constant practical-ethical dialogue they strive for a world that puts these values first for all people and all beings in them.
