Trial our Trails – A fun family afternoon
The House of European History is on a mission to make learning history a fun and interactive experience for children. Together as a family, come along and test out the two new trail prototypes while exploring fun facts about Europe. Your feedback will help the museum to perfect the final offering!
Throughout the afternoon, the museum welcomes the whole family to take part in two new discovery trails - a Spy Trail and a Family Highlight Trail- and to explore the updated and expanded Family Discovery Space.
The first trail is the Spy Trail, where young visitors will receive an instruction booklet and a bag of tools to help crack a code and discover museum objects relating to espionage.
The second is our Family Highlight Trail. It gives families an opportunity to discover interesting museum objects dotted across the exhibition. Upon spotting them, the children can explore the newly discovered artefacts.
In the updated Family Discovery Space, it provides a space for children to ‘time-travel’ and experience history through role-play games and dressing up in costumes like an astronaut or a nurse. For the first time at the museum’s ‘Travel Agency’, there will also be an audio-visual animation.
Finally, we invite you to share your thoughts and provide feedback so we can perfect and improve our offer to visiting families. The day will end with the museum giving our young visitors a small token of appreciation for taking part.
All events are suitable for families with 6-10 year olds and the museum has baby-changing facilities and access for buggies.
