W roku 2021 obchodzimy Europejski Rok Kolei. Celem programu EUROPALIA „Trains & Tracks” jest zbadanie wpływu kolei z perspektywy artystycznej i społecznej. W ramach wkładu w to przedsięwzięcie Dom Historii Europejskiej tworzy ogólnoeuropejską internetową kolekcję osobistych historii o międzypaństwowych podróżach koleją, składających się na wspólne doświadczenie kształtujące Europę. Celem jest łączenie i porównywanie wspólnych doświadczeń z całego kontynentu, zwrócenie uwagi na różne sposoby postrzegania ruchu i mobilności oraz na wymiar europejski w debacie o historycznej i współczesnej roli pociągów w Europie.
