In 2012, the House of European History commenced a collecting action for objects related to the Nobel Peace Prize and its award to the European Union.
The objects were intended to be part of the House of European History’s collection and permanent exhibition, to help record this important event in EU history and provide a public record for citizens.
Two curators travelled to Oslo with the official European Parliament delegation and collected objects from the participants. At the same time, the curators obtained a number of protest materials directly on the streets where pro and anti-EU demonstrations took place. In total, 98 objects and documents were collected, which became part of the House of European History's collection.
